Children's Ministry Programs

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

The Peekskill Seventh-day Adventist Church children's ministry programs are aimed at nurturing children into developing a loving and serving relationship with Jesus.

All children's programs are planned and directed by Miss Crystal Poholka, a NYS Licensed Teacher and trained classical soprano.

Virtual Vacation Bible School!

Join NAD Children's Ministries for a division-wide live VBS from July 6-10! This year's program is all about kid heroes from the Bible. Each day’s program will include all the songs, skits, Bible stories, and activities that kids look forward to at VBS. Downloads, free program materials, and more! Sign up for updates! https://www.adventistvbs.org/

Children's Sabbath School

The Children's Sabbath School curriculum consists of a 52-week lesson study which covers the plan of salvation and the principle stories of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Also included is a section dedicated to God's marvelous creations in nature which illustrate the beauty of His character and fortify the children's minds against common false teachings, such as evolution and idolatry. Children fellowship together, create arts and crafts, participate in mission and community outreach projects, and learn how to pray and sing.

Each lesson is divided into daily sections to assist parents and children in the development of Bible study habits at home.  See a Sample Lesson.

Date: TBD

Time: 9:45 - 10:45 p.m.

Teachers: Miss Crystal Poholka; Mrs. Romelane Cole

Sunbeam Kid's Club

The Sunbeam Kid’s Club is designed to provide opportunities for children to shine beams of sunlight into dimly lit areas of Peekskill and surrounding communities through various outreach and volunteer opportunities that become available.  Whether it’s making cards for the sick or bereaved, or planting flowers to brighten up someone’s day, club members will enjoy having fun and making new friends.

Club meetings TBD

Kid's/Youth Cooking Class

Kids and youth are invited to learn how to bake bread, granola, and other healthy foods, as well as attain some culinary skills at the same time! Their new talent will then enable them to sell their goods, make a profit, and donate to their favorite mission project!

Date: TBD

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Dates:  TBD

Time: 2:00 p.m.

Location

Yorktown Assisted Living Residence

FOR THE POOR:

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate and express our gratitude for the many things God has so graciously blessed us with.  However, there are many who will not experience this.  Life can be hard at times, and it is up to us to take some of the burden off of those who suffer.   In order to teach this valuable lesson to our children, every year we encourage girls and boys to organize a food drive together to help feed other children, their families, as well as the seniors struggling with hunger in our communities.

Collection Dates: TBD
